Marissa has a B.F.A in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design and Illustration and English minor through the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. With currently being based in Greenville, SC, she has worked as an intern designer for Blue Moon Estate Sales Greenville creating compilations with photo and video and promotional graphic posts for social media that could potentially be used for advertisement of the business.
While she has always been drawing cartoons and characters from a young age, Marissa's original artistic interest was music and she practiced singing, dancing, and various musical instruments before deciding to pursue Studio Art upon furthering education after high school.
Her motive for creating any piece of design is to reach the intended audience in successful, but strategically creative ways. It is important to achieve what the client is looking for, but also to present this in a way that brings an individualistic touch of the designer with processing and formatting. Her preferred practices of design include physical and digital illustration, experimental typography, and ad and/or merchandise campaign work. Marissa’s love of design stems from the desire to promote an idea or message through a bold visual, verbal, and/or audio experience that provides an artistic and positive impact on others.
